In 1969, when I first arrived in Gloucester, I knew that it was the place I wanted to paint. For the next five years I ran my own studio and gallery on Rocky Neck in East Gloucester. Since that time
I have returned time after time to paint the ocean, the fishing boats, and the ever-changing moods that Gloucester presents.
I also love to paint the rural farm country of New Hampshire and Vermont where there is never a shortage of subjects to paint. I only hope that I can do justice to the subject matter before me.
I studied painting at the New England School of Art in Boston, MA, where classical painting approaches were taught and students were required to draw from live models five days a week. I have taken workshops with Don Stone and Charales Movali.
Today I continue to draw and paint landscapes and seascapes in both oil and watercolor. My works are exhibited throughout the New England area. In the Summer I teach painting workshops outside and on location.
